Victory Through Praise
When King Jehoshaphat of Judah was surrounded by huge armies he knew that his people were powerless to defend themselves. So he cried out to God for help. The Lord’s answer came through Jahaziel, who said, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed . . . , for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
Jehoshaphat responded by worshiping and then appointing singers to lead the army. As the people sang, “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever,” God confused the invaders and they killed one another. No matter what battles we face today, the Lord will help us when we cry out to Him. So instead of retreating in fear, we can march ahead with confidence in God’s power and sing praise to Him.

I believe 2010 will be an extremely strategic year in the life of our family of faith. It is now time for us to “dare to dream” about the mountains God has in store for us. As each of us “dare to dream” our walk with Jesus Christ will become more and more attractive to those around us. In turn we can each become light in a dark and desperate world. Will all our problems be resolved? Will we avoid every storm and the turmoil that often follows? Of course not, storms will continue to come and go, but we can once again be a people of hope, a people of faith, a people who “dare to dream”!
If you are looking for a perfect church, Heart of Worship Baptist is not for you.
